New Orleans, LA Chapter

Hello.  My name is Wilson Vaughan and I am a Junior at Tulane University.  I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee and attended Montgomery Bell Academy, where I played High School tennis for 4 years.  I started playing tennis at the age of 5 and transitioned into competitive tournaments around the country at the age of 10.  I am currently the equipment manager and stringer for the Tulane University Men/Women's Tennis teams.  During my free time in the summer, I volunteer teaching tennis camps and giving personal lessons.  I fell in love with the game of tennis at a very young age and would love the opportunity to share my passion with future players.  My goal is to donate 200 rackets around the city of New Orleans and provide kids the opportunity to grow and develop in the sport.  With help from programs like Kids Serving Kids and generous donors, we can make that dream a reality!

If you have any questions or would like to be involved with our Chapter, please contact me at:  WVaughan@Tulane.edu

My name is Joseph (Joey) Short and I am currently a Freshmen and part of the tennis team at Loyola University in New Orleans. I grew up and live in Puerto Rico where I started playing tennis at the age of six. Ever since I can remember, I have been playing competitively in the island and in the US. Every summer I work teaching young kids how to play the sport, sometimes without pay. I have been representing Kids Serving Kids since sophomore year in high school at Colegio San Ignacio. I have collected, fixed, and stringed over 300 rackets.Donations were made mostly through the Puerto Rico Tennis Association where they identified where the rackets were needed the most. I want to continue my work on helping others play the sport I love the most. As a student at Loyola University, working for the New Orleans Chapter, I will help less fortunate kids get the equipment they need to play the sport.

If you would like to get involved with our Chapter and would like to donate, please contact me at jashort@my.loyno.edu or at (787)503-0033.
